The shape is triangular, not very large, around 7 cm long, not too fleshy, hard skin and a bright red color. The flavor of Pimientos del Piquillo de Lodosa is pleasantly bitter, with a sweet and slightly spicy aftertaste.
Harvested by hand between the middle of September and November each year, the peppers are cleaned and fire-roasted, then meticulously hollowed, skinned, and deseeded, one-by-one. Along with a complex and pleasant flavor, the peppers are an excellent source of vitamin C, fiber, potassium, and calcium.
The most particular thing about this product is the way it is prepared for packaging in jars. The process consists of roasting them, either on a charcoal surface or by gas through rotating drums in which they must never come into contact with water during the process, as they would lose their aroma and flavor.
It is great to stuff with tuna, cheese, cod, etc.
Use refrigeration once the jar is open.
